Dear Yuletide Writer...

Dear Yuletide Writer,

Hi! Please excuse my overuse of exclamation marks, because I just received my assignment and am extremely excited about the whole process! :D I've been Yuletiding since 2007, and every year I've loved the stories I've been lucky enough to get. I know this year won't be any different!

So, a lot of my requests are similar, aside from the one outlier in the Batman Beyond Fandom. In case you couldn't tell, I really, really, really love American criminal history. And when I can't get real American crime, well... Batman is the next best thing XD!

I'll just start with Batman, since that is the outlier...

In Batman Beyond The one thing I would really, really like to see here is Max/Terry. I'm not picky as to the circumstances, but I 'ship the like a burning. Though, as I said in my note, I can be partial to Max/Bruce too, so long as (somehow) it's younger!Bruce.

I also don't mind if certain details about the toon!verse change. For instance, I love Barbara's comic!backstory, and prefer it to the toon!verse. Want to slip in a mention of Damien? Go ahead. In otherwords, please feel free to dive into the comicverse!

Public Enemies and Historical Criminals sort of cross over in a way, I guess. With PE, I guess I sort of just want a day-in-the-life story post-Billie's arrest. Like I said in my request, any mention of his Cubs and Baseball love would really make me grin.

With Historical Criminals, I'm interested in seeing what they all have to say to one another. Some sort of meeting in the afterlife, whatever that might be for them. I feel like that could be a fascinating conversation. I don't care as to the subject, but just having them all the in the same room... Also, there are some criminals that weren't added to the character list who you could feel free to include! HH Holmes and Lizzie Borden spring to mind. Any American you'd like to add, feel free! I'll read about anyone.

My request for The Assassination of Jesse James... really says all I need to it say :-) I love thinking about what Jesse was like with his wife and children, and even though I've read the book and the bios and I "know", nothing does it like some awesome fic!

The only thing I'm not too fond of in these fandoms is slash (which isn't an anti-slash thing on my part, but more a combination for semi-historicalness and the fact that I have slight crushes on Jesse and John XD!), but run with whatever Gen or Het ideas you have!

I'm really excited to read what you come up with! These are ideas I've poked over for ages and ages but have never had time to write and have never been able to find. I hope something I've said will provide you with some inspiration, and whatever it is you choose to write, I hope you have a good time doing it!

Thank you!

Completely done! I'm going to make a bustle and skirt to go with it and probably wear it for Halloween.

Except, now I don't have anything else to work on all weekend. I'll probably go back to stupid crocheting while I watch more Justified-- which is my latest TV show obsession.

I don't have better pictures, because my current camera sucks. But! it cinches the waist into 25 inches, and does it without looking like shit, so, success!

Lots and Lots of vintage clothing

I finally took pictures of most of the vintage stuff I own. I say most because I realised when I was done that I'd actually forgotten a lot of them, and I didn't include the turn of the century stuff. Missing is my red summer dress, my Red Cross cloak, one Edwardian tux, my green and purple 1950s dress, my leather 1960s trench, my 1950s winter coat, one late 1800s frock coat, my Edwardian bodice, my Beaver skin top hat, the rabbit fur muff, a lot of random accessories (gloves, hair pieces, and the like), and jewelry. I had a bit of a scare when I was grabbing all this stuff that I'd lost my cloak, but then I found it. It'd just fallen in my closet.

Dresses are underneath the cut. A lot of it needs to be ironed and my basement isn't exactly well lit >.> Enjoy?

shoe project

So, I really like both pairs. The pictures, though, don't show them off properly. But still, here's an idea of what they look like! They aren't as wrinkly/shiny IRL as they look here >.>

Shoe decoupage project! )

This was a really amateur attempt and they're far from perfect, but definitely wearable (I swear they look more normal away from the camera). It'd be nice to get good enough to be able to maybe post on Etsy, though I learned a lot just from doing these two pairs. However, these are very much mine >.> I'd like to try a pair with Starbursts wrappers, but that means eating and saving enough Starbursts.

Also, might I say that I pair of Zatana Stilettos would be Ah-Mah-Zing.

Description: A table prompt challenge for the pairings that don't get the love they deserve.

Every month ten prompt tables of 50 words are posted. You head over to the sign ups and tell us what pairings you'd like to write for which prompt tables. Then you take that prompt table and you try your best to fill it up with 50 stories of at least 100 words about the pairing you've claimed. We're not competitive and we don't punish you for not finishing. It's a laid back way to write and ideally at the end of the month and two weeks, you've contributed a wealth of fics to the pairing and fandom that you and others love.

So check out the rules and check out the the FAQ to ask your questions. Then remember to claim your pairings!

Dear Santa... [2009]

Dear Yuletide Writer,

Hi! It's my third year doing Yuletide, and while I'm terrified that I didn't volunteer to write enough things myself, I'm still really excited to be going forward!

I know I was very babble-y in my original request, but I think the general gist was pushed through-- ie, I really, really love me some American mythos, specifically in crime. I'm writing my senior thesis on the evolution of the American outlaw-bandit myth through popular media. This, well, it can sort of take the fun out of my favorite guys and girls of American history, and I'm hoping for a Yuletide story that can stick that back in there for me!

My request for The Assassination of Jesse James... really says all I need to it say :-) I love thinking about what Jesse was like with his wife and children, and even though I've read the book and the bios and I "know", nothing does it like some awesome fic!

Public Enemies and Historical Criminals sort of cross over in a way, I guess. With PE, I guess I sort of just want a day-in-the-life story post-Billie's arrest. Like I said in my request, any mention of his Cubs and Baseball love would really make me grin.

[livejournal.com profile] picspammy challenge, yet again

I am really spamming the hell out of this latest picspam challenge. This is going to be the last one though, and it's different than other spams I've done, a) because I've actually tried to put caps in order (fancy that), and b) because I've run them through photoshop this time (good golly!). ie, I've not been lazy this time around! And it's because this one is a topic very near and dear to my heart: Eight Favorite Characters of Color. It's no secret that I love me my minority characters, and this spam celebrates that from childhood through now. It was always really important to me to see people who looked like me on screen and, not going to lie, I tended to favor them, especially when it came to fanfic. And fashion. And my hair. What, I'm easily swayed!

It's a bit of a diverse mix (fandom-wise), but they are my favorites and the only one I didn't include was already spammed. That's alright though, she's not number one XD! Often times I feel like these characters are either obscure or just don't get the attention they deserve.

So, without further ado...

[Picspammmy-- Challenge]

I have a problem with crossovers, in that they're kind of all I can ever think about. Fandoms don't seem to have boundaries for me. It's all very fluid. I really can't see any reason why, if there is a way, Character A from one fandom shouldn't go and meet Character B from another. There's a lot of missed interaction if they don't. And missed 'ships! Which bring me to the point of my picspam, featuring my favorite crossover 'ships. Why is this normally something I wouldn't do? Because normally I wouldn't share this part of my cracked out brain with the world XD!

Repost: For [livejournal.com profile] picspammy Challenge 13

Awhile back I played Calvin and Hobbes at an RP game over on IJ. I'd aged Calvin up to his mid twenties and turned his childhood fantasies into a manifestation of powers of sorts. Hobbes was turned into a sort of Daemon, His Dark Materials style. I was having a really hard time with the app, though I can't really remember why at this point. Creating a history for a character who you only know up till the age of seven is pretty difficult. I basically did this picspam before I finished up the app because visiualising everything helped me in the writing. I also, obviously, just love Calvin and Hobbes and I really, really love these PB choices, even though I wasn't able to play the character for very long.

I've never picspammed an RP casting before, because obviously choices can be so subjective to opinion. Hopefully you'll enjoy it! And don't think I'm raping your childhood XD!
