picspammy challenge, yet again
Nov. 26th, 2009 03:42 amI am really spamming the hell out of this latest picspam challenge. This is going to be the last one though, and it's different than other spams I've done, a) because I've actually tried to put caps in order (fancy that), and b) because I've run them through photoshop this time (good golly!). ie, I've not been lazy this time around! And it's because this one is a topic very near and dear to my heart: Eight Favorite Characters of Color. It's no secret that I love me my minority characters, and this spam celebrates that from childhood through now. It was always really important to me to see people who looked like me on screen and, not going to lie, I tended to favor them, especially when it came to fanfic. And fashion. And my hair. What, I'm easily swayed!
It's a bit of a diverse mix (fandom-wise), but they are my favorites and the only one I didn't include was already spammed. That's alright though, she's not number one XD! Often times I feel like these characters are either obscure or just don't get the attention they deserve.

Nov. 17th, 2009 12:20 pmI have a problem with crossovers, in that they're kind of all I can ever think about. Fandoms don't seem to have boundaries for me. It's all very fluid. I really can't see any reason why, if there is a way, Character A from one fandom shouldn't go and meet Character B from another. There's a lot of missed interaction if they don't. And missed 'ships! Which bring me to the point of my picspam, featuring my favorite crossover 'ships. Why is this normally something I wouldn't do? Because normally I wouldn't share this part of my cracked out brain with the world XD!

Nov. 8th, 2009 10:34 amAwhile back I played Calvin and Hobbes at an RP game over on IJ. I'd aged Calvin up to his mid twenties and turned his childhood fantasies into a manifestation of powers of sorts. Hobbes was turned into a sort of Daemon, His Dark Materials style. I was having a really hard time with the app, though I can't really remember why at this point. Creating a history for a character who you only know up till the age of seven is pretty difficult. I basically did this picspam before I finished up the app because visiualising everything helped me in the writing. I also, obviously, just love Calvin and Hobbes and I really, really love these PB choices, even though I wasn't able to play the character for very long.
I've never picspammed an RP casting before, because obviously choices can be so subjective to opinion. Hopefully you'll enjoy it! And don't think I'm raping your childhood XD!

( G.R.O.S.S. )Sometimes it's hard to believe that I'm twenty-one. Especially when one considers my obsession with cartoon characters from past decades. At first I was going to do a picspam of my favourite Characters of Colour. Then I realised that people like Benjamin Sisko deserve their own posts. Then I was going to do my two favourite Bat-females, but I realised Babs and Max both needed their own posts. I've been obsessed with Max since 1999. Which is... sad. But here's the thing, she's awesome. She's pretty much like Terry's version of Oracle, except she's never been out in the field. And she's Black, has pink hair, was a genius with computers, and got a perfect score on their version of the SATs, which when I was in middle school? was totally fucking amazing.
Picspamming a cartoon character is kind of hard, because while Timm style cartoons are genius, they have about as much facial expression as the next 2D image. So I've also included pictures of the PB I used (singer, Monica Arnold) back when I was RPing Max, just to flesh things out a bit.
So yes, in conclusion? Batman Beyond was great, Max is awesome, enjoy picspam!

Do you enjoy shows that are well written, conversation driven, and banter about everything from politics and religion to baseball and Nevada police enforcement? Did you like The West Wing?
